Payday and Other Stuff

October 1st, 2010 at 03:32 am

I get paid tomorrow. I have made a payment on Hospital Bill #1, bringing the balance down to $297.58. I also paid the water bill. I am also supposed to get an extra payment on my paycheck. It's not overtime, but part of a pay raise from a union contract that was not finalized until after the beginning of the July 2010 beginning of the fiscal year. My savings will be $151.15. We also got a check in the mail from a utility company for $104.00. We also got a bill from another utility company that says "no payment due."

Woo-hoo! I'm on cloud nine!

I found it on google images. I was hoping for a picture of 9 clouds or something else equally silly.

The hospital for Bill #1 has been very decent about it. They have never called me even once. There was one month a couple of years ago when I could not pay them and I wrote a them and told them why. They said it was no problem and to just pay when I can. Actually, the total bill was over $10000 and my insurance paid around 87%. Some may have gotten written off. The rest I have been paying myself. With Hospital Bill #2, that is my husbby's bill. He had no insurance and I think the original combined bills for the doctor and the treatment and everything was around $10,000. They have not been as nice and insisted that we pay a certain amount monthly. There have been some months where they did not credit our payments correctly and threatened to send us to collections. We went there with copies of checks in hand to prove they had gotten payment. Hospitals. Arrgh!

Well, it turns out I won't get the extra payment for work for a little bit yet. I am not quite sure what to do with it. It is supposed to be $188. I am considering putting 1/2 of it into my Conference Challenge and 1/2 into stuff to do with the house. Most recently, we have noticed we need some new mini blinds on some windows and a flexible downspout to divert rain from the gutters into the yard instead of pooling near the house and getting into the basement.
