2023 Financial Plan

Hello, to all SAers!

I decided to simplify my goals for 2023 by narrowing them down to just three. Do you have goals set for 2023 yet?

1) Pay down cc #1 to $00.00 by 06/31/2023.

2) Replenish emergency savings. Date TBA.

3) Open an IRA. Date TBA.

Good to have goals!

You can open the IRA now without funding it, and if you fund it by the tax deadline of April 18th, you can actually make a *2022* contribution, which means that you can still make a 2023 contribution either in 2023 or by April 15th of 2024. Gives you another year to save!

You definitely have a good chance of achieving your goals by only giving yourself a few goals to accomplish! I think my financial goals this year involve reaching the previous income I was on and rebalancing spending to what I was spending a few years ago (have been spending too much in certain categories and not enough in others). Good luck with your goals!

Simple is often best. I think you are smart to only have 3 major ones so you don't get overwhelmed.
